Pigeon guard and roof cleaning Fallbrook CA overview

This residential property in Fallbrook had a solar array that became a nesting site for pigeons, leading to noise, mess, and buildup under and around the panels.

The homeowner needed fast, effective pigeon exclusion and a thorough roof cleaning to restore curb appeal and prevent further damage. Before service, the roof had droppings, nesting debris, and soiled tiles. After completion, the array was fully bird-proofed and the tiles were cleaned using our proven pressure washing method for tile roofs, leaving the property noticeably cleaner and protected.

The scope included two services: pigeon guard installation around the full perimeter of the solar panels and a complete roof cleaning tailored to tile roofing. We also sanitized the affected areas to address bacteria and odors commonly associated with pigeon nesting.

They also wanted minimal disruption to their routine and a tidy, mess-free cleanup around the property once work was completed.

The expected outcome was simple: stop pigeons from returning under the solar panels, remove nesting sites and droppings, and restore the roof’s appearance. Our pigeon guard system and tile-safe pressure washing approach delivered a clean, sealed, and more resilient rooftop environment.

Tools for pigeon guards and roof cleaning Fallbrook

We used UV-resistant, PVC-coated galvanized steel mesh pigeon guards with solar-safe stainless-steel clips designed to attach to panel frames without drilling. UV-stable ties and edge protectors were added for a seamless finish, along with corrosion-resistant fasteners for durable, long-term exclusion.

For roof cleaning, we employed a professional pressure washer with calibrated settings suited for tile, wide fan tips, extension wands, and controlled passes. We used biodegradable detergents formulated for bird-dropping removal and post-clean sanitizing. Safety gear included roof anchors, harnesses, non-marking ladder stabilizers, and protective footwear. Challenges and solutions roof cleaning Fallbrook CA project

One challenge was the accumulation of nesting materials and droppings tightly packed under the panel edges. These areas are difficult to access and can attract more birds if not fully removed. We used specialized gutter scoops, HEPA-rated collection bags, and careful hand-removal methods before washing to ensure every crevice was cleared.

Another consideration was working on tile without causing breakage. Our technicians are trained to distribute weight correctly and use walk pads where needed. By maintaining controlled pressure and using fan-tip passes, we cleaned effectively without soft washing, aligning with our standard approach for tile roofs while preserving roof integrity.

Step by step pigeon guard and roof cleaning Fallbrook

Initial assessment began with a perimeter and rooftop inspection, including photos of nesting sites, panel edge gaps, and tile condition. We noted potential bird entry points and measured the solar array to size the pigeon guard mesh precisely. We confirmed safe ladder and anchor points and mapped out hose and equipment routes to protect landscaping.

Execution started with dry removal of nests, feathers, and debris. We bagged all waste for proper disposal, then rinsed and cleaned tiles using measured pressure passes suitable for tile roofs, never soft washing. After the tiles were restored, we sanitized the work zones to reduce odor and bacteria. We then installed the pigeon guard mesh around the complete array perimeter using solar-safe clips that do not penetrate frames. All cuts were finished with UV-stable ties and edge protection for a clean, uniform appearance.

Final touches included a ground-level rinse of walkways and driveway, a magnet sweep for any stray metal fasteners, and a full photographic walkthrough. We reviewed the exclusion line to ensure there were no gaps and confirmed the site was left cleaner than we found it.

Results and feedback pigeon guard roof cleaning Fallbrook

The results were immediate: no more access for pigeons under the panels, and a roof that looked refreshed and evenly cleaned. Cleaner tiles reduce odor and staining, while the sealed perimeter prevents re-nesting and minimizes mess. The system also helps reduce future soiling on panels, supporting better overall solar performance.

The homeowner appreciated the fast turnaround, respectful cleanup, and the confidence of a professionally installed exclusion system. They also valued our guidance on proactive maintenance, including seasonal checks and the importance of keeping gutters clear.
